Very nice job on some very straightforward gameplay. Loved the classic graphics an audio.

It's a very interesting and clever little game. I'd say the graphics could be improved, but frankly it fits very much into a stylized form that fits the game, any change there would require a major overhaul.
Hi Inhumaninterest! I'm starting to dig into more detailed graphics for my future games using Love2D and Aseprite, but I really do love PICO-8 for its use of really low-resolution graphics. I'm glad you enjoyed Winterberry, and thanks so much for playing! :)
Well that was a fun short little platformer, I really liked that it introduced some odd little strategy in balancing collection of the power-ups and the friends and the steady ramp-up of speed made for a good change of pace from normal platformer movement.
Very interesting, it's a nice straightforward platformer. The music is good an mellow which helps keep the feeling low-stress without feeling out of place. The visuals fit nicely with everything else and give the whole thing a nice warm cozy feeling.
That's good to hear! :)
It seems to be a pretty boiler-plate example of a clicker adventure game. That's not bad it just means I'm not seeing a lot of unique concepts to distinguish it from other examples in the field. It's a good and professional looking so no major faults to it and it was fun enough that I stuck through the game. Small items from it though, it would be helpful to be able to equip items directly from the shop instead of needing to go back to the inventory and it would be nice to see what levels are needed to unlock the cat wizard abilities in advance.
Definitely a very innovative design and a very fun puzzle mechanic. Music was also a good choice though it did start to feel a little repetitive after a while. Definitely enjoyed the game.
It was interesting, I'll confess from the get-go that I am not the king of person these things are intended for as I don't religiously collect or gush over music as a collectible. I more or less just enjoy the music. So I can't readily offer critique on anything but the more basic of levels for the game. On that level it's pretty functional as a quizzing game, it's clear when you got an answer wrong, it's clear when you got one right, and even with my limited expertise I scored fairly well by basic test-taking techniques. The hidden content definitely feels like an accomplishment and the artwork is fun and in most cases worth a chuckle or two. The biggest fault I can speak to is that it felt like the introduction to each section was a little off since the more recent hipster tide caused vinyls to make a slight resurgence. But that's a minor thing so I wouldn't fret about it, it's not my cup of tea but from an outsider perspective it seems like you did well.
Definitely interesting concept, it feels like the game is a bit too short and a little incomplete. Among other things it could definitely use some more stuff at the end, the most obvious part being that it doesn't have any way to restart the game from the end screen. It would also be nice to keep the score record at the end screen to review what all led to that score. Of course another obvious point to fill it out more would also be the addition of more types of cards. As a whole it's definitely a promising concept and I know I'd enjoy seeing more development of the game.
Interesting, nice bits of commentary and the expansion on plot was done in a nice and unobtrusive fashion that felt pretty natural. I mean, a lot of the reviews are pointing out the brevity but right now that feels ok because the only other gameplay issue I'd call out is the walking speed feels a little too slow. Just about the only potentially serious problem I've noticed was that after the first play the scrolls never reappear, I'm not sure if that was an intentional part of the setting to establish a commentary on how frequent this was happening or if it was an actual error, but I felt I should mention it.
That's an error, I hadn't picked up on it until now. Thanks for flagging it up, I'll see if I can get it patched tomorrow.
Interesting, definitely did exactly what it said on the box. Not anything I expected to see on here but still had fun playing it and it was pretty intuitive and easy to pick up and play.
This should be another location both for II comics and for my art in general.
