It's a very interesting and clever little game. I'd say the graphics could be improved, but frankly it fits very much into a stylized form that fits the game, any change there would require a major overhaul.

Hi Inhumaninterest! I'm starting to dig into more detailed graphics for my future games using Love2D and Aseprite, but I really do love PICO-8 for its use of really low-resolution graphics. I'm glad you enjoyed Winterberry, and thanks so much for playing! :)
Very interesting, it's a nice straightforward platformer. The music is good an mellow which helps keep the feeling low-stress without feeling out of place. The visuals fit nicely with everything else and give the whole thing a nice warm cozy feeling.
That's good to hear! :)
Interesting, nice bits of commentary and the expansion on plot was done in a nice and unobtrusive fashion that felt pretty natural. I mean, a lot of the reviews are pointing out the brevity but right now that feels ok because the only other gameplay issue I'd call out is the walking speed feels a little too slow. Just about the only potentially serious problem I've noticed was that after the first play the scrolls never reappear, I'm not sure if that was an intentional part of the setting to establish a commentary on how frequent this was happening or if it was an actual error, but I felt I should mention it.
That's an error, I hadn't picked up on it until now. Thanks for flagging it up, I'll see if I can get it patched tomorrow.
Interesting, I genuinely did not expect there to be an ending instead of just continuing forever. It played really well, the mechanics were simple and aside from one point were pretty intuitive. The one small point is that it feels like the game should've had sidewalls instead of just looping from one side to another. Very nice visuals, they felt very much in keeping with the overall tone of the game as did the light chirpy music. I will say that by the end I was feeling pretty resentful of the disembodied voice that declared when you reached score milestones but then that ended up being my motivator to keep trying so it definitely works. If this is your first try then keep up because you did a good job.
Thank you for playing our first game and especially for your feedback!!
Nice job on creating a unique survival mechanic and on generating a nice aesthetic. Though it seems that increasing the base enemy speed might lend a bit more to both pressuring the player to use the defensive power and rewarding them for doing so. I didn't find the need to employ the stone power for anyone other than the scrolling beams and managed the rest with normal bullet-hell tactics.
Yeah, I'm working on a version 2 so I'm gonna try to create more unique scenarios/enemies where being in stone form is actually necessary. I think having enemies die when they hit you in stone form would be a lot more helpful and interesting. Thanks for playing!
This should be another location both for II comics and for my art in general.
